Edith Kate Kory, 81, passed away October 12 2012, with her husband of 57 years by her side in there home in Moreno Valley, CA. A memorial service was not held as requested by Robert Kory her husband and family. She was born September 25, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois to Albert and Kate Betts and resided in Dalton, Illinois
Lead a simple life for that time period enjoying school and family and siblings that were all brothers until she met her first love, Robert Kory of Downers Grove, Illinois in 1954.
Robert Kory, on Dec 19, 1951 volunteered for service in the Army at the tender age of 19 and at the request of his sister Shirley the match maker asking him to send a letter to her at the Insurance company they both worked at. Well she received the letter but being prim and proper and not wanting to upset her father she never replied.
Robert Kory came back to the states with a Honorable discharge and a wild heart as all young men do at this age. Once again Shirley, his sister the match maker set them up on a date by joining Shirley and her husband help celebrate the wedding anniversary. Needless to say little conversation took place that night between Robert and Edith....but in time they fell head over heels love and married on April 11 1955. 1956 they had their first daughter Gayle, 1958 their second daughter Sandra and finally 1960 their first son Michael. As you will see many of the pictures included in this tribute are of both Robert and Edith, this, because they where always together and always, always giving each other a kiss of appreciation and love no matter what time of day. Husband and Wife have been married for a Wonderful and Loving 57 years. Her passing has broken all our hearts and was a unexpected turmoil for the last two months. Edith Kate Kory, sunshine of her husband's life and will always shine bright. She enjoy family, their pets, gardening, collecting the most interesting items, shopping for bargains aka lookie looing, sewing, and most of all traveling with her husband Robert. Some of her favorite saying's "ooh that's cute", "are you cereal", "three sheets to the wind aka I need a nap", "is that on sale"," more ice cream please", "Ohlala", "Love you"
West Covina, CA was home for a long time till their children grew up and left home. Years of vacations camping and boating were the high life when time permitted. Edith graduated from high school, started work at an early age to help her family and fought through the Secretarial pool to become a Executive Secretary in the later years. Retiring in the 90's to enjoy the home they purchase in Tucson, AZ and enjoy they both did, rebuilding, expanding and improving their home together. In 2009 they made the hardest decision ever, to sell their Tucson home and head back to California, they made Moreno Valley, CA close to their first daughter. Mrs. Edith K.
